I was born and raised in the middle of the Oklahoma panhandle in Guymon. I graduated at Guymon High School and attended college at Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with B.S. degrees in Biology and Marketing. Soon after graduating from college, I went to work for State Farm Insurance and worked as a fire claim adjuster in the Enid office. It was my responsibility to handle property and liability claims from homeowners and business policies. I worked a regular territory that included all of the state of Oklahoma west of Woodward. In addition to my regular office duties and territory responsibilities, I was often called to work storm duty in response to catastrophic losses. I was a large loss estimator and was called on to respond to losses in Florida after Hurricane Andrew, earthquake losses in California after the Northridge earthquake and flooding losses in Houston. I was also called on to work special disaster duty within the state after tornados and hail storms.

In 1996, I was given an opportunity to interview for an agency program and was accepted to the class. I moved to Tulsa with my family and was involved in a 6 month training program for agency which resulted in approval as a candidate for agency. On April 1, 1997 my family and I moved to Altus and I started my career as a self-employed State Farm Agent.

While in Altus I have been involved with and served on the board of several agencies including Kiwanis Club of Altus, Southwest Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Southwest Community Action and Operation CARE. I am a graduate of Leadership Altus V and I have served 3 years on the Altus City Council. I am an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Altus.

I am married to Tammy and we have two boys, Brendan and Logan. In my spare time I enjoy hunting, fishing, golf and just spending time at home with my family.
